The Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado provides a stark contrast to the views from the Rocky Mountains. Each location has their own special beauty! In the Black Canyon of the Gunnison you are mostly looking down at the Gunnison River hundreds of feet below you. The Black Canyon is a massive crack in the earth's surface etched by the very fast moving Gunnison River cutting through the rock like a knife.
