Description
Moon Flowers. Death Valley National Park is the hottest, driest location on the North American Continent. This is not a location where one would expect to see millions of yellow Desert Gold wildflowers and desert sunflowers. This panorama vista was taken at sunrise while the moon was still visable, in February of 2016, when Death Valley National Park was carpeted with millions of colorful wildflowers. The super bloom existed in 2016 for the first time in a decade because of three rainstorms that showered the desert landscape in October 2016.
