Description
As long as I live, I'll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. - John Muir. Take time to stop and listen to the waterfall.
This is the majestic and gut-wrenching view from the very edge of the Nevada Falls in Yosemite National Park in California. Climb along nature's "giant staircase" hiking the Mist Trail where you are rewarded with close-up views of Vernal Falls and then further up the trail is Nevada Falls.
Mist Trail is rated strenuous for it's steep, rocky switchbacks. The Mist Trail is 5.5 miles round trip where you will traverse up a steep granite stairway of over 600 steps. Prepare for slippery footing and a tremendous amount of waterfall spray in spring and early summer. Mist Trail, Vernal Falls, and Nevada Falls is a must do hike if you are in the area and can handle the distance, altitude gain, and scary trail.
