Description
Delicate Arch is one of the most famous arch formations in the country. The trail to it is one of the most popular routes in Arches National Park. I made the 3 mile climb to the Arch twice in the same day. I went up early in the day to scout out the best composition for a sunset image and then hiked back up a couple of hours before sunset to ensure the best location.
The Arch is a 60-foot-tall freestanding natural arch. This particular arch has become a widely recognized symbol of the state of Utah and one of the most famous geologic features in the world. Delicate Arch has also been called "Cowboy's Chaps" and "Old Maid's Bloomers".

Beautiful red rock and warm light!
George Buxbaum replied:
Thank Dan. Arrived on location over an hour before sunset. It was amazing to watch as the light changed. Never moved my camera position.

Wonderful composition
George Buxbaum replied:
Thanks Cathy. Scouting a position for sunset really paid off this time. I think I had the premier location for sunset.
