Description
Last rays of light at days end at Dante's View. Dante's View at 5,476 feet above sea level along the crest of the Black Mountains is the quintessential view of Death Valley National Park in California. At the top of Dante's View you are rewarded with a dramatic panoramic view of the the massive Badwater salt basin. In my eyes, this is the perfect location to acquaint yourself with Death Valley. So much of what is Death Valley can be seen from this spot. On very clear days, the highest and lowest points in the contiguous 48 states of the United States: Mount Whitney (14,505 ft) and Badwater Basin (−282 ft) can be seen.
