Description
On a recent trip to New River Gorge National Park, West Virginia, one of my goals was to visit the many waterfalls located in and around the National Park. Cathedral Falls, located near the town of Gauley Bridge, was one of the first of the local waterfalls I visited. Cathedral Falls is one of West Virginia's most scenic waterfalls and with a drop of over 60 feet, it is also one of the tallest in West Virginia. It is a steep cascade that falls into a natural amphitheater - likely the reason the falls was named 'Cathedral'. The falls are fed by the Cane Branch stream.
